How do I know what style a pattern should be?

Take a look at the name and first page of the pattern.

Look at the pattern/shop listing photo and description for clues.

Does it include details of the style? If it mentions cut and fold it can most likely be made in any of the cut and fold styles. If you want it to look like the photo then think about which parts are folded in.

Inverted (innie) – all marks are cut and the even tabs are folded in so the pattern is cut INTO the book.

Embossed (outie) – all marks are cut and the odd tabs are folded in so the pattern is STICKING OUT of the book.

(Combi) – Combination Cut and Fold (Folds first and last measurements to 90 degrees like MMF, Cut and Fold the rest of the marks)
